Cyclic Behavior of Interfaces for Seismically Retrofitted RC Buildings

چکیده
In seismically retrofitted reinforced concrete (RC) structures, new members are connected to existing using interfaces with roughened surfaces and post-installed dowel bars. During an earthquake, the subjected cyclic shear normal stresses. Therefore, structural design of is essential. a previous study, loads were applied interface specimens. Moreover, strength estimation method was proposed; however, behavior not discussed. This paper presents model surface in RC structures. First, envelope constructed Saenz model, constitutive law concrete. Subsequently, rules modeled. incorporated into proposed estimate test results. Finally, provided reasonably estimated results; average ratio results 1.04. addition, as δ increased, effect bar intensified terms shear.

Observed Behavior of Seismically Isolated Buildings
Strong motion recordings from four seismically isolated buildings are used in time-invariant and time-variant modal identification analyses. The buildings are identified as equivalent, time-varying, linear dynamic systems characterized by their time-varying modal parameters (including fundamental-mode natural frequencies, damping ratios, and mode shapes). The identification analyses for each si...
متن کاملBehavior of Full-Scale Shear Deficient Corner RC Beam- Column Connections Retrofitted with CFRP Sheets
In moment resisting reinforced concrete framed buildings, corner joints are found at the roof level. These joints, if designed for gravity loads and are based on pre-seismic codes, may suffer substantial damage during earthquakes particularly under opening cycles, i.e. those causing flexural tension on the inside of the joint. Several techniques of repair and strengthening of reinforced concret...
متن کاملSeismic Behavior of Substandard RC Columns Retrofitted with Embedded Aramid Fiber Reinforced Polymer (AFRP) Reinforcement
Many existing reinforced concrete structures were constructed with substandard characteristics. Low quality concrete, poor transverse reinforcement details and insufficient flexural strength are among the most common deficiencies. While substandard structures are in need of retrofitting, particularly in seismic areas, problems such as high costs and disturbance to occupants are major obstacles ...
متن کاملAnalysis of Carbon Fiber Sheet Retrofitted Rc Bridge Columns
Experimental studies were conducted by some researchers to investigate the cyclic performance of CFSretrofitted columns; however there is a need to develop analytical methods which can simulate its hysteretic response. This study presents an analysis of the hysteretic behavior of CFS-retrofitted reinforced concrete circular columns. Fiber element analysis was conducted based on cyclic constitut...
متن کاملNext Generation Benchmark Control Problem for Seismically Excited Buildings
This paper presents the problem definition and guidelines of the next generation structural control benchmark problem for seismically excited buildings. Focusing on a 20-story steel structure representing a typical midto high-rise building designed for the Los Angeles, California region, the goal of this study is to provide a clear basis to evaluate the efficacy of various structural control st...
